Home Open Class was created for parents and siblings of Scouts to participate in the Pinewood Derby experience. A limited number of kits will be available from John Fooks for $3.00, or you can pick one up at the Scout Store.
Weight restrictions on official Pinewood Derby cars do not apply to cars in the Open Class. Gravity-driven cars only: no other means of propulsion allowed.
Like official Pinewood Derby cars, Open Class cars must be checked in the night before the race, and paint must be dry.
Open Class cars will be run from 5:30-6:00 p.m. as part of the exhibition before race-time. At 6:00 p.m. sharp, the official race will begin, and the Open Class will end. If a large number of Open Class cars are entered, they may not all be run.
Entrants are asked to enter only one car.
